MyGuestStar ("we", "our", or "us") operates the online platform available at mygueststar.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our Service. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

When you use MyGuestStar, we collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: your name, email address, and business name provided during registration.
• OAuth tokens: access tokens provided by Google and Meta after you explicitly authorize the connection. These tokens are used solely to read and respond to public review data on your behalf.
• Review data: public ratings and reviews from your Google Business Profile and Facebook Page that automatically sync with the Service, plus any Yelp reviews you choose to add manually.
• Usage data: information about how you interact with our platform, such as features used, response actions taken, and session activity, used exclusively to improve the Service.
• Billing information: your subscription status and billing history. Payment card details are handled exclusively by Lemon Squeezy, our payment processor, and never stored by MyGuestStar.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect exclusively to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the MyGuestStar review management platform.
• Sync and display your public business reviews in one unified dashboard.
• Generate AI-assisted response suggestions for your reviews using Anthropic's API.
• Send you service-related notifications, billing communications, and support responses.
• Detect and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized use of the Service.
• Improve, develop, and maintain the platform using anonymized and aggregated usage data.

3. Data We Do Not Collect or Use

• We do not collect or store your Google, Facebook, or Yelp passwords.
• We do not access private messages, personal contacts, followers, or any data beyond public review information explicitly authorized by you.
• We do not collect payment card details directly. All payments are processed securely through Lemon Squeezy.
• We do not use your data to train AI models. We contractually prohibit Anthropic from using your data to train or improve their models.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.
• We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

4. Google, Meta and Yelp Data Usage

MyGuestStar accesses your Google Business Profile and Facebook Page data only after you explicitly grant authorization through each platform's official OAuth flow. We use this access strictly to:

• Read public customer reviews and ratings associated with your business.
• Allow you to draft and publish responses to reviews through the platform.

Yelp works differently: MyGuestStar does not use OAuth or access your Yelp account in any way. You provide your public Yelp business page URL, and any Yelp review content is entered manually by you, nothing is pulled from Yelp automatically. We do not use your Google, Meta, or Yelp data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the core service. Our use of Google APIs strictly complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You may revoke Google or Facebook platform access at any time through your Google Account settings or Facebook Settings; since Yelp isn't connected via authorization, you can simply remove your Yelp URL and any manually added Yelp reviews from your MyGuestStar account settings.

5. Data Sharing and Third-Party Service Providers

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes. We share data only with trusted service providers who assist in delivering the Service, and only to the extent necessary:

• Lemon Squeezy: payment processing and subscription management, acting as our Merchant of Record.
• Anthropic: AI-powered review response generation. Data submitted to Anthropic is subject to their data processing terms and is not used to train their models.
• Railway: cloud infrastructure and database hosting.
• Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by applicable law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and synced review data for as long as your account remains active. If you cancel your account or request deletion, your personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of the request. Aggregated and anonymized data may be retained for analytical purposes.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit and encrypted storage for data at rest. Our platform is hosted on Railway, a cloud infrastructure provider. We regularly review our security practices and update them as needed.

8. Cookies

MyGuestStar uses only session cookies that are strictly necessary for authentication and to maintain your logged-in state. We do not use tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies of any kind.

9. Your Rights

You have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

• Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion: request permanent deletion of your account and all associated personal data.
• Revocation: revoke OAuth access to your Google or Facebook account at any time through those platforms' account settings. (Yelp isn't connected via OAuth, just remove your Yelp URL from your MyGuestStar account settings.)
• Portability: request an export of your review data in a machine-readable format.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a prominent notice on the platform before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
